James Hunt serves as Financial Controller of AIP Capital in Dublin, Ireland. He has over ten years’ experience working in Finance, seven of which have been in the aviation space. Mr. Hunt is responsible for a broad spectrum of responsibilities within the Finance function, with a keen focus on forecasting and budgeting.
Prior to joining AIP Capital, he served as AVP Finance at AMCK Aviation, a Dublin headquartered aircraft lessor which was wholly owned by Hong Kong based CK Asset Holdings, a multi-national conglomerate. AMCK Aviation was sold to Carlyle Aviation Partners in 2022, and Mr. Hunt was a key member of the transaction team which oversaw the sale of the $4.3 billion portfolio of 130 aircraft.
Prior to his time at AMCK Aviation, he worked at AerGen Aviation, a Seattle headquartered aircraft lessor which was managed by the Greenbriar Equity Group. Mr. Hunt began his career as a chartered accountant with KPMG Ireland, where he worked in the Financial Audit and Information Risk Management departments. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from University College Dublin and is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
